Dr Thomas Lu

Dr Thomas Lu graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2016.

Thomas has previously worked extensively in both Sutherland and St George Hospitals in the field of geriatrics and emergency medicine. He has a unique interest in mental health and addiction medicine. Having completed the Opioid Treatment Accreditation Course (OTAC) with the discipline of addiction medicine, at the University of Sydney, Thomas is an accredited prescriber of methadone and buprenorphine.

Thomas also has a keen interest in teaching and research and has completed a Master of Science (MSc) at the University of New South Wales. In his thesis, he explored the provision of patient-centred care, and described the patient’s experience in their journeys through the healthcare system. Thomas has published numerous peer reviewed scientific papers and has presented at local and national conferences.
Outside of work Thomas is committed to provide outreach medical services to the rural and remote regions of Papua New Guinea through YWAM Medical Ships. He is happily married and regularly serves at his church. He also enjoys going to the gym, participating in basketball and table tennis.
